Marine Tech Wire and Cable, Inc

Our Company History

Marine Tech Wire and Cable is a manufacturer of electrical wire and cable that specializes in the production of shipboard cable for use in both commercial and naval ships.

Co-founded in 2000 by Mark Lindsay and Kosta Kontanis, Marine Tech began operations with 4 employees in a 30,000 square foot facility located at 901 S. Richland Avenue in York, PA.  In 2004, Marine Tech moved its operation to its current location at 631 S. Richland Avenue where it currently leases 50,000 square feet of manufacturing space and has over 25 employees.

Marine Tech has been very fortunate to employ a dedicated workforce where most of its employees have previous experience manufacturing wire and cable.  These employees provide more than 200 years of wire and cable manufacturing experience and expertise to our customers.

Mark Lindsay has worked in the wire and cable industry for over 30 years since he graduated from the Villanova University with a degree in mechanical engineering.  For 15 of those years, he worked at BICC Cables Corp, where he held various engineering and management positions, including Product and Process Engineering Manager.

Kosta Kontanis has been involved with wire and cable for over 18 years.  After graduating from the University of Rochester with a degree in electrical engineering, Kosta served as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy for 5 years in the nuclear submarine force.  He also worked for BICC Cables Corp as a process engineer.

Mark and Kosta started Marine Tech with the primary focus of manufacturing electrical wire and cable products for use in both commercial and military shipboard applications.  Since then they have expanded into other specialty products such as high temperature lead wire.
