Company History

From humble beginnings, to one of the premier wire and cable manufacturers in the world, Dekoron has continued to push the envelope of possibilites. Many of Dekoron's innovations have become world-wide industry standards, and today are taken for granted. Today, Dekoron continues to pursue new ways to manufacture world-class cables capable of not only meeting, but exceeding, our customers' requirements.     1939Samuel Moore Company starts in Ohio.
    1949Dekoron brand is introduced.
    1962Dekoron innovates low voltage electircal signaling transmission technology.
    1967Dekoron creates Ripstrip Termination for easy jacket stripping.
    1968Dekabon® Direct Burial Cable with moisture barrier for chemical and lightning protection is introduced.
    1969Dekoron patents Isolated Shields for Electrical Wire, providing EMI protection.
    (US Patent No. 3,474,186)
    1970Dekoron introduces Protectopac Instrumentation Cable, a first-gen Circuit Integrity Cable.
    1975Dekoron innovates Direct Burial cables.
    1978Eaton purchases Samuel Moore Company.
    1981Dekoron introduces the first non-black CPE jackets to the industry.
    1982Dekoron pioneers the use of Zero-Halogen thermoset jackets.
    1983Dekoron introduces non-fluoropolymer Plenum Cables.
    1987Furon purchases Samuel Moore Company from Eaton.
    1989Dekoron introduces Circuit Integrity Cables with a Fire Resistance rating of 750°C.
    1992Dekoron pioneers the use of Fieldbus technology and expands the available cable range.
    1995Dekoron introduces Circuit Integrity Cables meeting IEC and BS standards.
    1998Dekoron innovates the use of XLPE for PLTC and ITC cables.
    1999Marmon Group purchases Dekoron.
    2005Dekoron Wire & Cable, Inc is founded.
    2008Berkshire-Hathaway acquires the Marmon Group.
    2008Dekoron launches its Gardex® corrugated, continuously-welded aluminum armored line of products.
    2011Dekoron Wire & Cable, LLC is formed.
    2014Dekoron joins RSCC as part of the Marmon Specialty Wire Group.

Corporate Structure

We are part of The Marmon Wire and Cable Specialty Group. RSCC and Dekoron Wire & Cable serve a common market and are under one leadership. We are proud of the reputations of all of our sister companies and their dedication to providing world-class products. We share many resources and our combined product offerings serve practically all segments of wire and cable applications.



Dekoron Management Team


Mitchell Walker – Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Mitchell joined Dekoron in 2000 and has been serving the company in various roles throughout his tenure, moving into his role as the leader of the sales and marketing team in early 2014.  Prior to joining Dekoron, Mitchell owned and operated public accounting practices in Austin and Dallas, Texas, and has also worked in the automotive industry. Mitchell received his BBA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.


James Blevins – Vice President, Manufacturing
James came to Dekoron in 2008 from sister company Cerro Wire, where he was the plant manager of Cerro's Carrollton, Georgia plant.  He has over ten years of experience in the wire and cable industry.  James received his BA from the University of Alabama, Huntsville and his MS in Management from Florida Institute of Technology.  James is responsible for the overall production activities of Dekoron Wire & Cable.


Bob Wobick – Manager, Engineering & Quality
Bob has over 35 years of experience in product development, quality control, engineering, and operations management in the wire & cable, mechanical power transmission, and industrial equipment industries.  He joined Dekoron Wire & Cable in 2007.  Bob received his BS degree in Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville.  Bob is responsible for product design, product application, and the quality assurance functions at Dekoron Wire & Cable.


Brandie Adcock – Controller
Brandie is the latest addition to the management team, joining Dekoron in 2014. Her previous experience includes several years in the food manufacturing industry, where she has worked since 2003 in various financial functions. Prior to joining Dekoron, she most recently served as Operations Accounting Manager for one of the largest food manufactures in the region. Brandie achieved her MBA from Texas A&M and is a member of both the AICPA and IMA.
