Coil End Lead Type 4 BS 6195 Cable

The Coil End Lead Type 4 BS 6195 Cable is a specialized flexible single-core cable designed for permanent connections to coil windings in electrical apparatus such as motors, generators, transformers, circuit breakers, and actuators. It is also suitable as an alternative to tri-rated and bi-rated cables in certain applications.

Key Specifications:
- Voltage Ratings:
  - Type 4A: 300/500V
  - Type 4C: 600/1000V
  - Type 4D: 1.9/3.3kV
  - Type 4E: 3.8/6.6kV
  - Type 4F: 6.35/11kV

- Temperature Ratings:
  - Fixed installations: -40°C to +90°C
  - Flexed installations: -30°C to +90°C

- Construction:
  - Conductor: Class 5 flexible tinned copper conductor in accordance with BS EN 60228.
  - Separator: Polyester tape (PET) for insulation separation.
  - Insulation: Ethylene Propylene Rubber - Heat and Oil Resistant and Flame Retardant (EPR-HOFR).
    - Types 4A and 4C use Type FR1 insulation.
    - Types 4D, 4E, and 4F use Type FR2 insulation.
  - Sheath: Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) rubber compound, providing durability and environmental resistance.
  - Sheath Colour: Black.

- Mechanical Properties:
  - Minimum Bending Radius:
    - Fixed installations: 4 × overall diameter.
    - Flexed installations: 6 × overall diameter.

- Standards Compliance:
  - Manufactured in accordance with BS 6195 and BS EN 60228 standards.
  - Flame retardant as per IEC/EN 60332-1-2.

Applications:
These cables are primarily used as flexible connections to coil windings in various electrical equipment, including motors, generators, transformers, circuit breakers, and actuators. They are designed to withstand high temperatures and immersion in varnish, making them suitable for demanding industrial environments. Additionally, they can serve as alternatives to tri-rated and bi-rated cables in specific applications.

Additional Considerations:
When selecting the appropriate Type 4 cable, consider the specific voltage requirements and environmental conditions of your application to ensure optimal performance and compliance with relevant standards.
