HISTORY THROUGHOUT TIME.

    2003   

BTC Ibérica started its business on the 10th of January 2003, located in Zaragoza (Industrial Area MALPICA) on 3.500M² of floor space with a staff of 22 people.
Production consisted on Instrumentation Cables (BS5308) with PE or PVC insulation, aluminium screen, steel wire armour (GSWA) and PVC sheath.
The cable capacity up to 30 pairs and the section up to 2.50mm².
The ISO Certification ISO90001 was established by SGS.

    2004   

The production range of instrumentation cables is broadened with new materials, such as XLPE insulation and LSZH sheaths.
Incorporation of double steel tape armouring (DSTA) machines.
The Control Cables (BS5467) start to be manufactured. Multi-conductors up to 63 conductors and section 6.0mm².

    2005

BTC Ibérica relocates its installations inside Zaragoza (Industrial Area CENTROVIA) on a new plant with 12.000M² of floor space.
Acquisition of lab equipment to carry out tests on fire retardant, according to IEC60332-2-22&IEC60332-2-24.

    2006   

Start using copper with Mica (MGT) over cores and lab equipment to carry out fire tests according to IEC60331. This way our production is increased with Fire Resistant instrumentation and control cables (EN50288-7&BS6724).

    2007   

Introduction of elastomeric plastic materials, EPR insulation and SW4 sheath for offshore installations. The production of Rubber cables begins (BS6883&BS7919).
Incorporation of the steel braid armouring (GSWB) machines.
Establishment of the Environmental Certification ISO14001 by TUV.

    2008   

Nylon (PA12) begins to be used as material for sheathing. It is necessary under the sheath to make the cable resistant to rodents and, together with a layer of aluminium and polythene, for Multi Layer System Cables (AL-HDPE/PA).

    2009   

Incorporation of a Lead Sheath which provides the cable with qualities against chemical and environmental agents.
It is applied on all type of cables, both instrumentation and control cables.

    2010   

Acquisition of machines for the production of Telephone Cable (CW1128&CW1198) with Cellular PE insulation and Foam Skin together with Petroleum Jelly Fill (PJF).

    2011   

Starting of the production of the Power Cable, section up to 35mm² (IEC60502-1).

    2012   

The whole range of Energy cables is completed and the section of 240mm² reached.
With this result, all the range of low tension products is covered.

    2013   

Lloyd's approval for cable types BS6883&BS7917 for Marine applications.

    2014   

Establishment of the Safety and Health OSHAS 18001 Certificate.
