Flying the flag, from Dubai to Copenhagen

During March, nkt cables participated in two very different trade events, in two very different settings.

The Middle East Electricity Fair 2015 (Dubai, 1-3 March), is the biggest electricity fair in the Middle East, drawing exhibitors and customers from the Arabian regions and Far East, as well as Europe, the US and Canada. This year marked the 40th Anniversary of this increasingly internationalized fair, with around 1400 exhibitors from 54 countries, and almost 20,000 visitors. nkt cables exhibited a wide selection of cables and accessories, from 10kV medium voltage cables right up to 400kV high voltage.

nkt cables' CEO Michael Hedegaard Lyng (second from left, above) also made a personal visit to the MEE Fair, taking time to have a few one-to-one meetings with customers, contractors and local staff, as well as taking a tour of the exhibition. He was impressed with its size and structure, and the future growth potential that this signals for the Middle Eastern region.

A few days later, and several thousand kilometres to the north, nkt cables was also represented at a very a very different gathering: Offshore 2015 (Copenhagen, 10 – 12 March), is the world's largest offshore wind energy conference and exhibition. Taking place every two years, it brings together the whole of the wind energy value chain under one roof. The event, organised by the European Wind Energy Association, also features conference that provides an important forum for networking and exchanging ideas across the industry.

There was a relaxed atmosphere at the nkt cables stand, where visitors were able to meet and talk to experts from our offshore projects business, and see a range of videos about our undersea cable manufacture, delivery and installation work.

Wolfgang Nolden, Head of nkt cables Offshore business, stressed the importance of nkt cables' participation: "The EWEA Fair is like a big family meeting for the industry. Everyone who is related to the offshore wind power industry is there, including of course, important Danish customers such as DONG and You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. Our regular participation at the EWEA Fair is an important event for us, a great chance to meet others and learn about new developments. It sends a clear signal that we continue to be committed to the future of offshore wind energy."
