Wire Mesh Corporation Confirms $11.2 million in Machinery and Equipment Expansion

A family-owned wire manufacturing and distribution company announced it plans to invest $13.1 million and create 49 new jobs over the next five years in Calhoun County.  Florida-based Wire Mesh Corporation made the announcement during Monday's Calhoun County Council meeting.  The investment will include about $1.8 million toward the land and building and $11.2 million in machinery and equipment.

Wire Mesh Plant Manager Al Smith  said the company will have equipment in place by May, with operations beginning in August.  The company specializes in the manufacture of steel wire products for use in steel reinforcement for concrete construction projects including bridges and parking garages.  "We currently have five locations and we are still growing," Smith said.

Wire Mesh Corporation has plants in Florida, Illinois, California, Maryland and Texas.
