we cooperate with leading companies in several fields
we tailor to our customers' needs and
we aim to continuously improve our quality and reliability targets.

TECNIKABEL's cables suit a range of applications, such as industrial automation, robotics, railways and telecommunications, industrial electronics, audio-video, defense, off-shore, in-shore, geo-seismic research, solar and wind energy, naval and health care – focusing on technical support from the very first steps of cable design.F8A9542

       Careful analysis of the applications,
evaluation of the most suitable materials for any environment and
product cost optimisation which enables us to suggest and create original solutions in order to satisfy customers' specific requests.

TECNIKABEL's cables contain what is required to make reliable products for all voltages.
High quality levels are guaranteed by a modern over-every-step-controlled production process.
Technicabel's know-how and its Quality Assurance system have been recognized and certified according to UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 standards since 1994 by Italian national (CISQ and IMQ) and international certification bodies (IQNET) and certified by IRIS (International Railways Industry Standard) since February 2009.

Research & Development

In order to reach high levels our core features - preparation, commitment, experience and operative flexibility - are essential. Because of flexibility TECNIKABEL deals and promptly fulfils diverse market needs.

R&D has always been considered key within TECNIKABEL.
Competent staff, innovative machinery, state-of-the-art technologies, strict laboratory tests, new materials and next-generation software make our R&D.
Results and skills are at our customers' service to offer full technical support and high quality products in step with the most recent innovations.

Innovation

innovazione_immIn industrial automation and robotics, cables must supply excellent, long-lasting performance, remain unaltered for their entire lifecycle and perfectly withstand repeated mechanical bending and torsion stress. For this reason, the TECNIKABEL automation test room is equipped with a continuous data acquisition system connected to moving cables, several chains of various length, a torsion test machine, a robot arm simulator and a simulator with robot wrist.

The data acquisition system, developed in LabVIEW environment, acquires the electrical resistance of cables in real time and calculates trends according to the number of cycles of the machine on which they are installed. This system checks if conductors are damaged  leading to final failure of cable. Test data are stored in a large database for easy retrieval and access. The system, which can be accessed via Intranet and Internet using specific passwords, will soon be integrated with video cameras connected to the web.

Design

TECNIKABEL has always based result excellence on the constant training of skilled, up-to-date personnel, cutting-edge construction processes and a UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 quality assurance system.

TECNIKABEL has a dynamic, evolved technical department with software for calculating the main electric and mechanical features along with a robust centralised IT system.

Our system can supply all types of information in real time to rapidly evaluate costs and guarantee constant product control, from raw materials to final product.
A large standard and technical library is used to draw up projects and designs and estimate costs.

Laboratory

Immagine-TEST-DI-LABORATORIOConstant R&D improvement, combined with state-of-the-art technologies and top-level professional skills, mean that TECNIKABEL can complete all projects rapidly and efficiently.

Our laboratory has test equipment for carrying out tests in the most demanding conditions of use. Results are collected in a constantly updated database allowing us to guarantee the reliability and durability of a cable.

TECNIKABEL can test product quality in all segments by carrying out various tests in special test rooms:

    Electric/electronic test room
    Physical/chemical test room
    Mechanical/dynamic test room
Fire & flame behaviour test room

Electric/electronic test room

TECNIKABEL works jointly with customers who are leaders in the telecommunications, broadcasting, data transmission, automation, offshore and railway segments. Specific products require measuring particular transmission features, such as: resistance, electric capacitance, impedance, return loss, attenuation, cross-talk, skew time, etc. These measures provide feedback for design and are useful for project validation and cable prototyping.

The CPMS transmission parameter test bench has three different sections for measuring the transmission features of:

LAN cables to a frequency of 600 Mhz
    coaxial cables
    paired cables.

The bench consists of:

a network analyser (up to 3 Ghx)
    an LCR meter
hardware and software for data acquisition and processing.

This test bench was validated by major telephone companies for approval testing (ADSL, coaxial, paired, etc.).
The transmission test system is completed with a set of HP 4194 A and HP 8753 A network analysers spanning from a frequency range of a few Hz to 3 Giga Hertz.

Dielectric resistance test
A General Radio 1836 megohmmeter and a SATURN ISO megohmmeter are used to test the quality of insulation materials.

Dielectric rigidity test
These tests are carried out on small-sized specimens of  to 5 kV in the laboratory using an alternating voltage generator. A high voltage cabin is used for larger specimens (up to 20 kV).

Current stability tests
These tests are carried out using a direct voltage generator up to 10 KV.

Cable operating voltage tests
These tests are carried out in two high-voltage cabins with capacity of up to 20 kV and 30 kV respectively.

High-resolution electric resistance tests
These tests are carried out using a nanohmmeter for cables with cross-section area larger than 16 mm².

Fire & flame resistance test room

Respecting and exceeding fire behaviour and flame- and fire-retardant limits set by the strictest reference standards and respecting our own high quality standards is very important. Three tests are carried out to evaluate specific properties under fire conditions:

Flame-retardant tests
According to UL standards (Cable Flame, VW1, Horizontal Flame Test), CSA (FT1, FT2), CEI (20-35/1, 20-35/2, IEC 60332-1, IEC 60332-2).

Fire-retardant tests
According to UL standards (Vertical Tray Flame Test, UL 1685), CEI EN 50226-2-1 , 20-22/3-1 (cat. A F/R), CEI EN 50226-2-2, 20-22/3-2 (cat. A), CEI EN 50226-2-3, 20-22/3/3 (cat. B ), CEI EN 50266-2-4, 20-22/3-4 (cat. C), CEI EN 50226-2-5, 20-2/3-5 (cat. D).

Inspections & tests

TECNIKABEL has always cared for product quality and for this reason our cables undergo severe tests and final inspections after production.

Our technical staff inspects all products in these fields:

Voltage test in cabin to evaluate cable resistance to high voltage
Continuity tests to check that the electric signal is not interrupted
Transmission tests to assess the electric parameters of the cable
    Stripping tests.

The tests are carried out on all TECNIKABEL products, with special focus on new products which undergo more demanding tests. Results are examined by technical personnel prior to shipment.
