DCIL (Deepak Cables (India) Limited) is one of India's leading power infrastructure providers. The primary business areas include manufacturing of conductor cables, construction of transmission & distribution lines and electrical substations. An ISO-9001:2000 certified company, DCIL is headquartered in Bangalore and has offices and manufacturing facilities across India.







India has witnessed a paradigm shift in the power sector across regions and states. There has been significant focus on the T&D sector driven by the  Government of India which has opened up this industry to private sector participation.

Our near-term goal is to emerge as a leading player in creating a national T&D network that will help India optimize its limited resources while addressing its ever-growing energy needs.

Starting its business as a conductor manufacturer in 1982, the company has emerged as a key player in shaping India's transmission & distribution sector.





The Board of DCIL comprises the following

K. Surya Rao – Chairman of the Board

Mr. Surya Rao founded Deepak Cables in 1982 with a vision to support indigenous growth of the Indian energy industry. Over the years, Mr. Rao has strived to build DCIL into a leading organization in the power transmission & distribution as well as conductor manufacturing sector.

K. Venkateshwara Rao – Managing Director

Venkateshwara Rao has over 20 years of experience in the energy industry. He has been associated with the company since its inception and charts the strategy of the organization. He is also closely associated with the operations management of the organization. He also takes keen interest in understanding global trends in the power sector and bringing them to the benefit of the country. His passion and deep insight into the power sector help define the path for DCIL.

Ajay Mittal – Director

Ajay has over 14 years of experience in fund management, taxation and finance. He was earlier at UTI Mutual Fund where he managed India Access Fund, the first India dedicated offshore index fund. Ajay is currently with UTI Ventures as an investment principal. As a key member of UTI's investment monitoring team, he was involved in the restructuring of several portfolio companies across diverse sectors. Ajay is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant.

Satish Mandhana – Director

Satish has over 25 years of private equity, corporate finance and business strategy experience. He was earlier a Director of CDC Advisors (now Actis) where he was involved in many important investments and exits, such as the CDC-led privatisation of Punjab Tractor, which won the Acquisitions Monthly Emerging Market Deal of the Year Award for 2003. As CFO and Head of Business Strategy at JK Paper, he restructured a USD 210 million balance sheet and raised USD 177 million of funds from various sources, including private equity from Goldman Sachs and IFC. As head of Investment Banking at SRF Finance (a part of GE Capital since 1997 ) he set up the Structured Finance, Corporate Broking, Investment Banking and Private Equity practice of the company and led the company in the areas of securitisation, advisory, investments, underwriting and issue management. Prior to joining the financial sector he worked with SRF and Eicher, where he was responsible for assessing and creating new businesses. He is a member of the Planning Commission's Working Group on Power & the CII Committee on Economic Affairs and Taxation. Satish received an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University, and a BE in Industrial Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee.

Mohan Kumar – Director

Mohan Kumar has several years of experience in taxation and finance. He is a practicing Chartered Accountant. Mohan Kumar has added value to the Company by bringing an independent perspective in all key decisions taken by the Board. The active support and forward thinking of Mohan Kumar has helped DCIL in its rapid growth path.

B. Satyavathi - Director

Satyavathi brings with her extensive experience in Human Resources in her previous engagements with large multinationals in the United States. She infuses enthusiasm into the Company with her new-age organizational approach. She has been instrumental in developing the Information and Technology initiatives within the organization.
