General Cable Corporation (NYSE: BGC) announced that its Board of Directors has named Leah Stark as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, effective July 15, 2016. Ms. Stark, who was previously the Senior Director of Global Human Resources for Greater China, the global KitchenAid business, and global functions for Whirlpool Corporation, joins General Cable with over 17 years of progressive HR experience. In addition to being named Chief Human Resources Officer, Ms. Stark is also a member of the Strategic Leadership Team.

"Key to our cultural transformation and the achievement of our business objectives is having a strong, world-class, global Chief Human Resources Officer as an integral part of our Strategic Leadership Team," said Michael T. McDonnell, President & Chief Executive Officer. "We're steadfast in working to execute on our strategy in becoming the best wire and cable company in the industry and vital to the success of this strategy is our ability to create a vibrant and fulfilling place to work. Leah's vast experience and proven track record will help us to achieve those business objectives on a global scale," added McDonnell.

For the past 10 years at Whirlpool, Leah's leadership responsibility spanned across talent, mergers and acquisitions, and business partner leadership roles; additionally, she spent two years living in China and leading HR for Greater China, including HR leadership of the Hefei Sanyo acquisition. She began her career managing human resources and labor relations at manufacturing facilities for General Mills, Inc.

Ms. Stark earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Lee University and a master's degree in Human Resources and Labor Relations from Michigan State University.
