1. Type of wire (German abbreviations)
FL=automotive wire
FLZ=automotive ignition wire

2. Conductor Materials (excluding electrolytic copper)
M=materials other than E-Cu or electrical resistance alloys
W=resistance wires

3. Characteristics of insulation materials
no abbreviation=Normal thickness
R=reduced insulation thickness
U=ultra thin insulation
S=lncreased insulation

The abbreviations consist of two groups:
1. Type code
2. Construction and material code
The sequence of the code characters used in the abbreviation describes the cable construction, from inside to outside.

These abbreviations stay at the end of each product. A distinction is made between the following structures:
A Symmetric conductor design acc. to DIN ISO 6722-1
B Asymmetric conductor design acc. to DIN ISO 6722-1
C Fine stranded conductor design acc. to DIN ISO 6722-1

The coding starts depending on voltage rating
with the letters:
FL (= automotive cable)
Voltage rating A according to ISO 6469-3
FHL (= automotive-high voltage – cable)
Voltage rating B according to ISO 6469-3
FZL (= automotive ignition cable) according to ISO 3808
Identification conductor material
Al Aluminum
W Resistance alloy
M Other conductive materials
For a detailed specification of other conductor materials
"M" can be replaced optionally by the alloy description.
