Dear All,

We are going to manufacture 2 core 150 sq mm unarmored power cable,we are going to use 18 copper strands .According to 18 wires the wire diameter should be 3.28 mm each + 4 % =3.39 mm.
If we use 3.28 mm wire means while we compacting the conductor the area of conductor is going less, that time CR going high,so only 4 % wire size increased from 3.28 mm.Conductor should be in    "D" Shaped. Kindly let me know how we will produce the conductor according to above parameters?
Conductor construction is 7 wire (1st cage) + 11 wire (2nd cage) =18 wire.Which compacting die we have to use? Let me know the calculation for that.

Junsuke Wakou

D shaped is compact shape or sector shape ?

if you want to know compact die

7 wire (1st cage) 8,6 mm

11 wire (2nd cage) 14,1 mm

KAVINRAJ

Dear Sir,

D Shaped is sector shaped conductor.Normaly we make D shape by using roller by pressing the conductor that time it will be compacted and turn into D shape.

Virgolino De Freitas

calculate conductor diameter like compact after increase wire diameter 0,11 mm.
