World Wire & Cable Conference to bring senior executives from the industry together in Barcelona

Consultancy group and events organiser CRU is hosting the 9th World Wire and Cable conference in Barcelona. This conference provides important annual meeting for the professional peers and its market analysis helps shape future strategy for organisations involved in the wire and cable industry.

The conference offers insights into underlying economic and policy related trends and provides in-depth discussions on the power, fibre optic, OEM and communications cabling markets. The programme will feature industry experts from leading manufacturers and some of the world's largest cable end-users who provide cable makers and their suppliers and customers with discussions on the trends that are shaping the industry as well as case studies.

The metallic cable and the fibre optic markets performed quite differently during 2014. The former started strongly but lost momentum into the second half of the year largely as a result of weak economic sentiment and political concerns in the Eurozone.  On the contrary, the fibre optic market strengthened in the final quarter and was propelled by excellent performance in Europe.

CRU predicts that this market situation will reverse as the metallic wire and cable industry is posited to improve on its 2014 performance this year and into 2016. The fibre optic market on the other hand will show much less growth as a result of slowdowns in the Chinese and European markets.

Alongside the detailed programme which breaks into parallels streams for niche topics, the event also offers an opportunity during the year for peer to peer networking at a senior level with wire and cable companies from over 30 countries in attendance. 

The World Wire & Cable Conference 2015 will be held on 15-17 June in Barcelona.
