Kiddoo To IWCS CEO/Director As Barteld Retires



The International Wire & Cable Symposium, Inc. today announced the appointment of a new CEO/Director, with effect from January 1, 2015. David B Kiddoo will take up the responsibilities upon the retirement of the incumbent, John T Barteld.

Kiddoo brings to the position a solid background as a supplier to the wire and cable industry. Over 30 years of experience, primarily at DuPont and AlphaGary, as well as very active participation in industry organizations make him the ideal candidate to carry on the work at IWCS. Dave has served on the IWCS Symposium Committee and Board of Directors for over 20 years and remains an active leader of industry organizations, such as the Communications Cable & Connectivity Association (CCCA), Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI), National Electrical Manufacturing Association (NEMA), Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI), the Vinyl Institute (VI) and the Flexible Vinyl Alliance (FVI).

Dave is a graduate of Bucknell University, with a degree in chemical engineering. He and his wife Lisa reside in Maryland. Barteld is retiring after ten years of service as the CEO/Director of the IWCS. During his incumbency the IWCS stabilized after the tumultuous times related to the high technology implosion of the late 1990s' and the impact of the 9/11 crisis. The IWCS remains the premier technology event for the wire and cable, and connectivity industries, with broad support from industry and a viable annual Conference and Symposium. In retirement, John will continue his teaching activities at York College of Pennsylvania.

The 63rd IWCS International Cable • Connectivity Symposium is scheduled for November 9 to 12, 2014 in Providence, RI.
