Comparison of H07RN-F and H07RN8-F Cables

H07RN-F and H07RN8-F are both flexible rubber-insulated cables widely used in industrial and outdoor applications. While they share many similarities, their main differences lie in their specific usage conditions and resistance to water immersion.

1. Features
Both cables conform to EN 50525-2-21 standards and have the following technical characteristics:

  • Voltage Rating: 450/750V (Uo/U)
  • Conductor Material: Electrolytic fine-stranded copper (Class 5, IEC 60228)
  • Insulation Material: EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber EI4)
  • Outer Sheath Material: Cross-linked elastomeric compound (EM2 or EM3+EM2)
  • Flexibility and Mechanical Resistance: High flexibility, abrasion resistance, and mechanical durability
  • Chemical Resistance: Resistant to oils, UV radiation, and ozone
  • Maximum Operating Temperature: +60°C (underwater), +85°C (dry conditions)

2. Differences

FeatureH07RN-FH07RN8-F
ApplicationGeneral-purpose, outdoor, and industrial useContinuous underwater applications
Water ResistanceWater-resistant but not suitable for continuous immersionDesigned for permanent water immersion (e.g., water pumps)
Outer SheathStandard neoprene sheathSpecially formulated neoprene for enhanced water resistance
FlexibilityHighly flexibleModified for better underwater performance
Typical ApplicationsConstruction sites, industrial machinery, generators, agriculture, portable equipmentWater pumps, purification plants, submersible pumps, pond lighting

3. Selection Criteria
Choosing the right cable depends on the specific requirements of the application:
  • For general industrial and outdoor applications, H07RN-F is sufficient.
  • For continuous underwater use, H07RN8-F should be selected.

Understanding these differences ensures optimal cable selection, enhancing system reliability and reducing long-term costs.
