Vibrant showing at WAI's Interwire 2013 and 83rd Annual Convention

The Wire Association International (WAI), Inc. reports that its biennial Interwire Trade Exposition and 83rd Annual Convention came to a successful conclusion April 25th at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC), Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Visitors from 59 countries, numbering some 4,000 industry professionals, participated in the industry's largest wire and cable marketplace in the Americas. Key influencers and purchasers from more than 300 wire and cable manufacturing operations were represented, approximately 80% of whom reported expected capital equipment expenditures of more than $50,000 in the next 24 months.

WAI President Richard Miller said, "Interwire provided that much needed meeting place for the industry.  In this day of technology and extremely busy schedules, it is essential that we have a face-to-face forum where we can exchange ideas, facilitate innovation, and network. Interwire is that resource that serves to break-up our routine, while reflecting the incredible scope and potential of the wire and cable industry."

Exhibition Highlights

Wire and cable machinery was operational on the exhibit floor, which occupied 106,400 sq. ft. in Hall A of the GWCC. The exposition featured 435 companies representing 20 countries, and more than 150 wire, supply, and equipment categories. Sixty-five companies were first-time exhibitors. Companies from Austria and Italy were organized in international pavilions. And live production solutions demonstrations covered wire breaks, lubricants, surface processing, I.T. solutions for wire and cable, and innovation in diamond properties.
