Reliable, Durable and Retraceable The CWMC Gave an Insight into Cable Marking Features

At the beginning of July, Wiedenbach Apparatebau, a leading supplier of cable and wire marking equipment, organized the first Cable & Wire Marking Conference (CWMC) in a luxurious hotel located directly on the shores of the Lake of Constance. As known, cables have to be marked for different reasons. 70 professionals, among them cable manufacturers and harness makers, from 15 countries including China and South Korea  participated at the CWMC.

Speakers from cable manufacturing and processing equipment manufacturers like Rosendahl, Medek & Schörner, Gebauer & Griller and Komax, from the cable marking equipment manufacturers Domino Laser and Wiedenbach, from polymer suppliers PolyOne and Grafe Color Batch, from ink suppliers Domino Printing Sciences and Wiedenbach, and from quality testing and surface treatment equipment suppliers DVS and Arcotec held twelve lectures on different aspects concerning cable marking.

The conference participants received information about global trends and the likely effects on the wire and cable business, cable marking requirements, the state-of-the-art marking techniques, optical effects of cable codings, properties of insulation polymers and the modifiability by additives, interactions between cable surfaces and marking media as well as economic efficiency and quality control.  The CWMC is thematically so far unique on the market and complements conferences organized by professional associations of the wire and cable branch, its suppliers and market research organisations.
