Pelican Wire Continues Growth

2013 was an extremely successful year for Pelican Wire. The Naples based wire manufacturer now has over 75 employees, a 32% growth over the past year. 2013 was Pelican's year for awards and recognition: Pelican Wire was named Southwest Florida's Manufacturer of the Year, one of Florida's Top 50 Growing Companies to Watch, and finalists for Florida's Manufacturer of the Year.

In addition to being named Southwest Florida's Manufacturer of the Year, three of Pelican Wire's employees were also nominated for Manufacturing Employee of the Year, including Martha Langston, Angel Santana, and Kathleen Wilson. Each Nominee was honored on stage and received recognition for their hard work and dedication. At the end of the night, Martha Langston was named the Manufacturing Employee of the Year in the Administrative category.

Shortly after Pelican Wire was awarded the SRMA's Manufacturer of the Year award, Florida's Governor,Rick Scott, visited Pelican Wire's facilities in Naples, FL and personally congratulated all of the employee owners on their recent accomplishment. The President of Pelican Wire, Ted Bill, led Governor Scott and his entourage on a tour through Pelican's factory where they manufacture resistance wire, thermocouple, RTD and custom wire & cable. After the Governor's tour, Scott awarded Ted Bill with the Business Ambassador award.

In October, Pelican Wire was honored as a one of the Top 50 Growing Companies to Watch in the state of Florida. Florida Companies to Watch is a unique awards program that honors second-stage growth companies for their impressive employment rates and revenue growth. The top 50 companies recognized have a reputation for generating a large portion of new jobs and strengthening Florida's economy. Joseph Karkoski, the CFO of Pelican Wire, accepted the award on October 25, 2013 at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando, FL.

On December 6, 2013, Pelican Wire was named one of the three finalists for the 2013 Manufacturers of the Year competition. Pelican Wire's President, Ted Bill, graciously accepted the award on behalf of all of the employee owners at Pelican Wire at the 10th Annual Manufacturers Summit and Marketplace in St. Petersburg, FL. There are 18,425 manufacturers in Florida and 317,300 manufacturing employees.

The Pelican Wire employee owners are extremely proud of the company's 2013 accomplishments and are looking forward to surpassing their 2014's already high expectations.
