Robust Regional Growth Draws Strong International Appeal at Wire and Tube Southeast ASIA 2013

As ASEAN prepares for further development with a major line-up of infrastructural projects in the pipeline, the wire and tube industries remain strong through robust support from the region and around the world.

Over 300 exhibiting companies from 30 countries including seven national pavilions and country groups from Austria, China, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Taiwan and the USA will be making their presence felt at wire and Tube Southeast ASIA. Trade visitors from Thailand and across the Asia-Pacific will be treated to a wide array of some of the most sophisticated wire, cable, tube and pipe machinery, technologies and solutions for wide applications in the automotive, building and construction, electrical & electronics and many other industries.

Southeast Asia's leading regional trade fairs for the synergistic wire and tube industries that have long since built a reputation on the international stage will take place from 17 – 19 September 2013 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bangkok, Thailand.  Organized by Messe Düsseldorf Asia, over 350 exhibitors from 30 countries have confirmed their participation including an impressive show of seven national pavilions and country groups from Austria, China, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Taiwan, and USA. More than 6,000 visitors are expected to attend the two trade fairs over three days.

wire and Tube Southeast ASIA 2013 will bring together some of the world's leading brand names from the wire, cable, tube and pipe sectors showcasing innovations and trends on high-performing machinery and equipment, manufacturing and processing technologies, as well as materials and accessories, making it a truly global networking and business platform. According to Mr Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia, "wire and Tube Southeast ASIA 2013 is a key meeting place for global market leaders to connect commercially to the dynamic and fast expanding region of Southeast Asia, to share useful insights on the latest technologies and to strengthen ties with Thailand and the region's wire and tube market. The growing internationality of the trade fairs and increase in first time exhibitors to both wire and Tube Southeast ASIA is representative of the relevance of the trade fairs and importance of the Southeast Asian market."

With the impressive line-up of infrastructural and industrial projects taking place in Thailand and the region, Mr Ringling added that the synergy of the two trade fairs is well positioned to support the burgeoning market demands for the wire, cable, tube and pipe products and technologies. According to Thailand's Office of Industrial Economics, strong growth will be seen in construction and manufacturing, with the automotive industry expanding at the fastest rate.

On show at wire and Tube Southeast ASIA 2013

This year, wire Southeast ASIA focuses on the themes of automation, integrated processing solutions and the latest range of high-performance machinery for wire and cable manufacturing. Commenting on the timely staging of wire Southeast Asia 2013, Mr. Steve Rika, Chairman, International Wire & Machinery Association (IWMA) said that the trade fair presents the ideal opportunity for key wire and cable industry decision-makers to view the latest market innovations and assess their company's future business requirements.

Dr. Gunther Voswinckel, President of the International Tube Association (ITA) said:"With the participation of the world's most technologically advanced companies exhibiting their core competencies to meet current market demands, the success of Tube Southeast Asia 2013 has put a heightened focus on the need for a viable platform that addresses imminent industry needs." Both IWMA and ITA are among the eight international industry partners of wire Southeast ASIA / Tube Southeast ASIA respectively.

At the core of Tube Southeast Asia 2013 are exhibitors from the specialised section of value added steel finished products including seamless stainless steel pipes and tubes, welded tubes, high calibre seamless alloy steel tubes, as well as applications for inspecting of tube, bar, plate, and wire.

Advancing the region's demand for wire and tube solutions

The robust industrial and infrastructure growth in the region particularly in the automotive, electrical and electronics, construction and petrochemical sectors, is expected to further advance demand for wire and tube solutions. As Thailand establishes itself as ASEAN's automotive hub with the largest vehicle assembling capacity and highest quality parts manufacturing capacity in the region, coupled with an electrical and electronics sector that is expected to grow by 3% in 2013, market opportunities are abound in Thailand.

This is further complemented by an increasing steel demand in Thailand that is projected to hit 17.62 million tonnes, up more than 6% from 2012. The wire, cable, tube and pipe industries are significant users of steel, particularly in the construction, transport, machinery and metal sectors.

"As ASEAN based companies prepare for the upcoming ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015 which is aimed at linking the ten member economies in a common market, Thailand will enjoy an even larger market with greater opportunities in the coming years," said Mr Ringling. These exciting developments will generate growth for the wire and cable industry and puts wire Southeast ASIA / Tube Southeast ASIA 2013 on the right course to be another landmark event for the region's wire, cable, pipe and tube industries since it benefits a variety of industries including electrical and electronics, telecommunications, automotive, building and construction, and transportation.

Mrs. Jaruwan Suwannasat, Director of Exhibitions & Events of the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) says, "Many SMEs and international corporations are looking at Thailand as a strategic location to serve the ASEAN region. Thailand is at the crossroads of ASEAN and with its strong economic growth, investments on infrastructure and government measures to strengthen the domestic economy make Thailand extremely attractive to investors from all over the world."
