Scintilla to expand Hungarian Cable Plant

Hungarian cable manufacturer Scintilla has announced plans to expand its production facility in Jászberény, in Hungary's northern part. The manufacturer aims to double the factory's production space to increase its output capacity and boost revenues, reported local news site You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.

Due to the expansion, Scintilla is planning to produce 150m cables and wire harnesses this year at Jászberény. This would represent an increase of 3.5% over its output from 2013, when the firm made some 145m of cables and wire harnesses, according to figures released by Scintilla.

Increasing the plant's output capacity in 2014 is expected to allow the manufacturer to expand its revenues to 3.23bn forint (€10.53m) this year, an increase of 9.5% compared with 2.95bn forint (€9.62m) reported for 2013.

The plant in Jászberény is currently operated by a workforce of 280. The city is located about 100km from the country's capital Budapest.

Scintilla supplies its output to a wide range of manufacturers from various industries. These include telecommunications, home appliances, machinery and the automotive industry, according to data from the Hungarian firm.
