Bahra Cables building on Saudi Electricity links

Bahra Cables Co. has received a new contract worth SR 110 million from Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) for the supply of low and medium voltage cables to be used in SEC's projects in 2013.

This is in addition to the previous contract worth SR 400 million signed between the two companies for SR 400 million, bringing the total amount of cables to be supplied by Bahra Cables to the Saudi Electricity Company to SR 510 million in 2013.

A delegation from the Saudi Electricity Company recently visited Bahra Cables Co. as part of program set out by SEC to visit all national factories that had signed contracts for the supply of electric cables to the company.

Talal Idriss, CEO of Bahra Cables, received the SEC delegation and briefed them about the work procedure. The delegation toured factory facilities, accompanied by the CEO.

Idriss thanked the SEC for placing its trust on products from Bahra Cables. He stressed that the company is committed to meeting the needs of its local and foreign clients.

He said Bahra Cables' products meet all international standards.

The company has received a number of accreditation certificates for its range of power cables.

The CEO said the cable industry in Saudi Arabia is currently undergoing a major expansion to meet the growing demand for major projects.

He said national companies can meet about 90 percent of the Kingdom's needs for cables. They are high-quality products that meet local and international standards.

Some of Saudi cable companies export part of their products to neighboring markets.
