A little economic miracle

The Business Unit Industrial Solutions of the LEONI AG has designed a hybrid cable for different applications in drive technology. The cable with an Ethernet-core used for compact drive systems reaches new heights in cost efficiency and flexibility.

The new hybrid engine circuit cable designed by LEONI can be used in various innovative drive systems. The advanced design combines energy supply and data transfer in one single cable, thereby reducing wiring expenditures by up to 85%. But the latest, highly dynamic addition to the LEONI family is not just smart, it is tough as well: Because of its specially designed highly flexible PUR jacket, the cable withstands effortlessly 10 million bending cycles and therefore causes a significantly increased modularity in machines and systems.

This further advance towards ease and continuity in networking automation drive systems was made possible by a unique cable design incorporating special strands. Despite the electrically difficult characteristics of Ethernet wiring, this enabled Europe's leading provider of bus-wiring systems to be the first manufacturer to ever integrate a four-core Ethernet connection for universal real-time communication via SERCOS III into an engine circuit.

Moreover this cable is certified according to UL and CSA standards and therefore meets the requirements of the North American market.
