Parker Scanrope AS manufactures the most modern cabled products available for offshore energy production on foundations deriving from centuries of traditions.

The company consists of two divisions, the subsea cable division, manufacturing power cables and umbilicals, and the rope division, manufacturing large steel and synthetic mooring lines and other specialised rope products for the offshore industry.

The factory is situated on the water's edge and can load large and heavy items direct on to sea-going transport by use of the 250 tonne crane or straight from several very large turntables.

Since 1796 and throughout its more than 200 years of business, Parker Scanrope has played an active part in the development of Norwegian industry.

Scanrope was established to supply rope for maritime actvities. In that respect, very little has changed. Most if not all of Parker Scanrope's product range has a marine application. The company today, however, can justifiably claim to be one of the world's leading manufacturers of cabled products for the world's energy industry.

The manufacturing facility in Tønsberg, Norway, enables the company to offer an unrivalled capacity that includes some of the largest machines anywhere for production of umbilicals, power cables, as well as mooring lines made of steel or synthetic materials. The factory is situated on the water's edge and can load large and heavy items direct on to sea-going transport by use of the 250 tonne crane or straight from several very large turntables.

The power cable is custom built and contains electrical conductors, electrical signal cables, and fiber cables.

Subsea power cable is used for transmission of electric power between offshore installations and for the supply of electric power to subsea processing, subsea pumps or other subsea facilities.

The voltage rating and conductor cross - section is optimized in accordance with the functional requirements.

Power cables can be manufactured both as dynamic and/or static cables or sections of cables.

Major components:

Medium Voltage - High Voltage power conductors

Fibers in Metallic Tubes (FIMT)
