Citizen Cables Ltd. is a leading electric cable manufacturer in Bangladesh. Located in B.K Bari, Rajendrapur, Gazipur, our factory was formerly known as Fecto Industries Ltd., managed by the Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation (BSEC) and owned by the Bangladesh Government. In 1993, we took over the factory and collaborated with the Japanese under the BMRE program to modernize it.

At our new factory in Gazipur, we produce all types of Citizen brand electric cables using 99.99% pure imported copper, adhering to international standards. Our state-of-the-art laboratory is equipped with the latest technology and computerized machinery, enabling us to manufacture PVC/XLPE Copper/Aluminium cables up to 33KV, as well as overhead insulated and bare conductors.


Quality and reliability are our top priorities. Therefore, all Citizen brand cables undergo thorough testing in our well-equipped modern laboratory and are approved by the Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institution (BSTI) and the Bureau of Research, Testing & Consultation (BRTC), BUET. Our products are also approved by various government sectors such as PWD, PDB, MES, REB, DPDC, CAAB, DCC, Facilities Department, Bangladesh Railway, Mongla & Chittagong Port Authority, among others.

We have obtained the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 Certificate from Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI), U.K., for our strict adherence to the Quality Management System. Additionally, Citizen Cables is certified by BUET, BSTI, and CPRI (Central Power Research Institute, India) for our commitment to international quality standards.

Quality Control
Raw Material Test

All raw materials undergo testing to ensure the quality and sustainability of their use in our products. Our quality control department conducts tests such as Purity, Elongation, Breaking Load, Resistance, and Torsion tests on copper. For insulating materials, we perform tests including Thermal Stability, Volume Resistivity, Elongation, Degree of Cross Link, Melt Flow Index, Carbon Black Content, FR-FRLS, Ageing test, and other relevant tests. This thorough testing process helps us maintain the high quality of our products.
Routine Test during Manufacturing Process

Production supervisors and engineers from each section are involved in checking the physical dimensions and visual compatibility of coppers, PVC/XLPE, at every step of the manufacturing process. Their role is to ensure that the materials used meet the required specifications and that the manufacturing process proceeds smoothly. This meticulous monitoring helps maintain the quality and consistency of our products.
Test of Finished Products

All of our final products undergo comprehensive testing to ensure compliance with relevant standard specifications. Specifically, tests such as D.C. resistance, High Voltage, Insulation resistance, Partial Discharge (HV), and Current injection are applied to finished products in every production batch. These rigorous tests are conducted to verify the quality and performance of our products, ensuring that they meet the required standards.

Citizen Meter Industry is equipped with an advanced testing laboratory and staffed by engineers with professional expertise. All of our meters undergo thorough testing in accordance with BDS-IEC-62053-21:2013 standards at our own facility.

The following tests are meticulously performed on each individual meter:

♦ Starting current test at 40 mA.
♦ High Voltage Test at 2KV for one minute.
♦ No Load condition test.
♦ Meter constant test.
♦ Power consumption.
♦ Error Limits test.

Once the meters pass these tests, they are sent to BSTI (Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution) along with the test report for a re-test. Only upon receiving a favorable re-test report, the products are delivered to our esteemed customers. Our commitment to quality and transparency has earned Citizen Meter a reputation as one of the top brands in Bangladesh, as recognized by consumers.

We are socially accountable, which is why we engage in activities that create conscious impact and awareness on the aspects of our society- such include responsibilities that are social, environmental, and other determinants promoting physical and mental health awareness.
Engr. Mohammad Ali Foundation (EMAF)
Engr: Mohammad Ali Foundation was founded in 2010 by our respected CEO for various charitable works. The mission of this foundation is to give special privileges to students with high academic achievements and potentials every year. They are awarded with scholarships under EMAF so that they can further benefit their educational career for a better future. These scholarships are awarded to under-privileged students of Dhaka Medical College and BUET. The foundation bears other social responsibilities that include aiding deprived people during winter, flood, or any other natural calamities.
Jinnatun Afsar Mohila College

This was established under Engr. Mohammad Ali Foundation (EMAF) by Mrs. Tahura Ali, MP and one of the Directors of our parent company, Citizen Cables Ltd. in the year of 2001. It is situated in the village of Narundi, Jamalpur district. The mission of this college is to ensure remote area access to girls benefitting to their education. We recognize the potential of female population, hence offering free education for all.

In 2013, the college was equipped with a science laboratory, an auditorium and a Hostel with the capacity to accommodate 30 students. At present the total number of students in Grade 11 and 12 are about 162, taught by qualified teachers. On average, 88% of students pass their HSC examination since inception.

On the basis of the present and ongoing performance of the college, it has been listed in MPO by the Govt. effective from the year 2010.
Children's Park

Sabuj Bithi children's park was built in the same location of village Narundi, Jamalpur district. It is located in the residence of the CEO's village, Narundi, Jamalpur District, comforting access for kids' sports and recreation.
Winter Clothes' Distribution

Every annual year, we distribute winter clothes all over the country to underprivileged people of the population such as labor workers, rickshaw pullers, street people etc.
Flood Relief

Citizen Cables Ltd. has contributed in the donation of flood relief in Satarkul and all the other water captivated areas around Dhaka City. These provisions include food supplies, shelter, medication and all the basic necessities for flood affected population.
Tree Plantation and Environmental Awareness Program

In the venture of creating a substantial growth of our cable manufacturing process, our factory utilizes only 30% of the total land assets that facilitates cable production space capacity. The rest 70 % area is completely eco-friendly- natural gardens filled with Mango, Litchi, Banana and Lemon trees as well as a collection various types of floral plants.

Also, it goes without saying that, while we do process and produce electric cables, we ensure minimum disposal of fuel combustion and other chemicals with ZERO smoke emission.

In order to preserve the environmental ecosystem and equilibrium, Citizen Cables Ltd, regularly engages in countrywide tree plantation and contributes to a green community.
Income Generating Program for Unemployed Individuals and Poverty-Stricken Women

Citizen Cables Ltd conducts multiple income generation objectives that introduce self-reliance and independence among underprivileged population. The activities include:

    Industrial, professional training and recruitment for occupational students.
    Sewing, crafting and knitting training for poverty inflicted women, widows and underprivileged individuals.
    Contribution in various cultivation, farming and harvesting programs for the poor to further benefit their income profitability.
